Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine.

Since the 60’s, the practice of acupuncture has become more widespread throughout the Western world and our Physiotherapists are trained in Western acupuncture, which can be used to treat musculoskeletal and nerve pain.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into the skin, muscles, tendons and sometimes the joint spaces. Due to the size of the needles, is not as painful as receiving an ordinary injection.

Western acupuncture has been shown to help reduce pain and inflammation in several ways. It can inhibit pain messages that travel to the brain for interpretation, as well as stimulating the body’s own pain relief and anti-inflammatory chemicals.

Acupuncture and “dry needling” are safe to use in most patients and have very few side effects, with a course of treatment giving longer lasting pain relief that one off sessions.

At Chichester Physiotherapy Louise Morgan and Lisa Jackson are trained to use acupuncture, and after through assessment and health screening, may suggest it to compliment treatment of conditions such as tendonitis, neck pain and migraine.

What our Clients say

"As soon as Louise suggested she might offer online classes I knew I was
going to sign up. She is such a charismatic and dedicated professional who is
very much focused on the wellbeing on her client. I feel completely safe with
her, in class and online."   S Bulloch
